Station X Closes $5M Second Equity Financing

Station X Inc., a Redwood City, CA-based developer of software products for scientists and clinicians who work with large-scale human genome information in either a research or clinical setting, has closed a $5M second equity financing.

The round was led by Runa Capital, with participation from existing investors Genomic Health.

Founded in 2010 by Richard D. Goold, Ph.D., Tod M. Klingler, Ph.D., and Andrew R. MacBride, the company is dedicated to simplifying the analysis and visualization of genome-scale data in clinical and research settings. It plans to use the funds to expand its team (http://www.stationxinc.com/careers.html) and accelerate the commercialization of GenePoolā„¢, a software-based biomarker discovery system for storing, analyzing and visualizing large-scale genomic data in translational research, diagnostic and pharmaceutical development, and clinical genome analysis.

In conjunction with the funding, Runa Capital partner Andre Bliznyuk will join Station X’ Board of Directors.
