Spain Startup Co-Investment Fund Launches

A Spain Startup Co-Investment Fund has launched in order to stimulate seed and early-stage companies in Spain.

The €40m joint-venture program, which will be equally funded by Empresa Nacional de Innovación SA (ENISA) and a group of local and international investors, aims to develop the Spanish venture capital market as well as attract international investors to high-growth Spain-based enterprises.

Through the fund, ENISA will allocate participation loans to start-ups, along with previously accredited equity investors such as VC firms, VC funds, business angel networks and private angel investors.

Any equity funding provided by the investor will be matched in amount with a loan by ENISA.
