Canadian social media management system HootSuite has acquired cross-platform application Seesmic for an undisclosed consideration.
The acquisition is aimed at integrating Seesmic’s app into its system.
Founded in 2008 by Loïc Le Meur, California-based Seesmic has been backed by a number of angel investors and Softbank Capital.
Backed by Blumberg Capital and Hearst Ventures, among others, and led by CEO Ryan Holmes, Hootsuite offers a suite of social media management tools, with different options for small business and enterprise customers across all platforms. It will continue to support Seesmic, while transitioning business users to its social media management toolset.
