Celeno Communications Secures $24M Series E Funding

Celeno Communications, a Ra’anana, Israel-based provider of high-performance Wi-Fi chips and software for HD multimedia and high-performance data home networking applications, has secured a $24m Series E funding.

Backers include existing investors Cisco, Liberty Global, Greylock Partners, and Pitango Venture Capital, as well as new investor Vintage Investment Partners.

The company intends to use the funding to further expand its 802.11ac development program, as well as increase sales, marketing and engineering teams globally.

Founded in 2005, and led by Gilad Rozen, CEO, Celeno has developed field-proven OptimizAIRâ„¢ technology, which builds on and optimizes standards-based Wi-Fi for data and video home networking, and enables reliable distribution of up to eight 1080p HD resolution video streams. It includes channel-aware scheduling, rate selection, antenna selection and power adaptation for reliable throughput, extended range and low packet error rate.
The company’s solution delivers HD performance to any third-party Wi-Fi client devices including set-top boxes, tablet computers, wireless TVs, digital video recorders, media streamers, laptops, and others.
Celeno’s chips have been deployed with over 75 service providers worldwide, including providers such as Deutsche Telekom, Liberty Global, UPC, Bouygues Telecom and China Telecom.
