Actiwave Raised Raises SEK13M in Funding

Actiwave, a Linköping, Swede-based developer of a technology that improves audio quality in mobile phones, tablets and other devices, has raised 13m has raised SEK13m in funding.

The round was led by Industrifonden, with participation from current owner SEB Venture Capital, which invested in the company in 2011 (read here).

Actiwave intends to use the funding for market launch.

Founded in 2007 as a spin-off from research at Linköping University by Pär Gunnars Risberg, CEO, Actiwave has developed a new technology to improve sound quality in small speakers with limited space and battery capacity, e.g., in mobile phones, laptops, tablets and televisions.
The company is now in the process of licensing out the technology to manufacturers of products with small speakers and low power consumption requirements.
