Star Capital SGR, a Milan, Italy-based private equity firm focusing on investing in small and medium sized enterprises, has held the first close of its latest fund, at €70m.
Star III has been supported by Fondo Italiano di Investimento and other international institutional investors including the European Investment Fund.
Founded in 2001, Star Capital provides Italian SMEs with turnover of € 20-50m and ebitda of €3-10m with risk capital to support their growth plans, their generational succession in the contest of family businesses.
The firm is managed by Marco Gazzaniga, Carlo Arteria, Carlo Cangialosi, Marco Baratti and Alessandro Colombo.
