Solegear Bioplastics Inc., a Vancouver BC-based developer of bioplastic technologies, has secured Series A financing of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by Yaletown Venture Partners, with participation from angel investors.
Founded in 2006 and led by CEO Toby Reid and Executive Chair Paul Antoniadis, Solegear engineers, produces and distributes high-performance bioplastics made from rapidly renewable resources. The company has developed proprietary bioplastics formulations under the brand name Polysole® – a 100% bio-based, non-toxic and compostable bioplastic.
The company intends to use the capital to accelerate commercialization with global customers to deliver its customized bioplastic solutions.
