Sawbuck Realty Closes $3.5M Funding

Sawbuck Realty, Washington, DC-based provider of a “Shazam-for-homes” app, has closed a $3.5m funding.

Backers include Revolution Ventures and real estate investor Robert Stewart.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its development team, add additional features and build out the web ecosystem to complement its mobile-first approach.

Led by co-founder and CEO Guy Wolcott, Sawbuck recently launched its free app HomeSnap, which allows users to snap a picture of any home in the U.S. to find out all about it. Its patent-pending technology employs multiple iPhone sensors, and proprietary advanced algorithms to identify each home and then provide consumers with detailed information including tax records, MLS data, school information, attendance zones, Census demographics, neighborhood information, lot boundaries, geolocation data, etc.
The app has been downloaded more than 200,000 times since its launch.
