Widespace Completes €3M Series A Funding

Widespace, a Stockholm, Sweden-based premium mobile ad network, has completed a €3m Series A funding.

Backers include Northzone and Industrifonden.

The company intends to use the funding to expand internationally and further develop its mobile advertising platform, which is already in use in over 100 countries.

Founded in 2007 by Chairman Henric Ehrenblad and Patrik Fagerlund, Widespace operates a mobile ad network that helps brands and media agencies reach their audience in top quality apps and sites. It currently delivers a billion quality ad impressions per month. Advertisers include popular brands such as Volkswagen and McDonald’s with ads seen on applications such as Wordfeud, NRJ Radio, Eurosport, Bonnier group titles such as Expressen and many more.

In conjunction with the funding, Pär-Jörgen Pärson, General Partner of Northzone, has joined the company’s the Board along with Johan Englund, Investment Manager of Industrifonden.

Widespace, which also has additional offices and representation in Oslo, Helsinki and Paris, currently has 27 employees. It is hiring (read here).
