#waywire, a New York-based network that will provide original, syndicated and community created video content, has closed a seed capital funding of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by First Round Capital and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors, with participation from a group of angel investors.
Co-founded in 2012 by CEO Nathan Richardson, Cory Booker, and Sarah Ross, #waywire operates a network that provides original, syndicated and community created video content, with the aim to develop informed opinions on topics and then engage in positive debates and discussions.
The company will begin accepting email registrations for the site’s private beta release at www.waywire.com.
In conjunction with the funding, Howard Morgan of First Round Capital, will join #waywire’s Board of Directors.
