Portalarium, an Austin-Texas-based publisher and developer of games for mobile platforms and social networks, has closed a $7m Series A financing.
The round was led by m8 Capital, with participation from FF Angel, BHV Venture Capital and Portalarium co-founder Richard Garriott de Cayeux, among others.
The company intends to use the capital to finalize the development Ultimate Collector®, scheduled for release this summer on Facebook, browser and mobile platforms, as well as to launch production of its role-playing game Ultimate RPG / New Britannia (working title), scheduled for release primarily on mobile platforms.
Formed in September of 2009, Portalarium is developing and publishing premium online games and virtual worlds for mobile platforms and popular social networks. The company will be joining the new Zynga Platform Partners publishing program with products to be announced later.
