Chute, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile and web platform that makes it easy to add photo and video functionality to applications and sites, has raised an early stage funding.
The round, whose amount was not disclosed, was led by Freestyle Capital, with participation from Battery Ventures, USVP, Salesforce.com, Joe Fernandez, Binh Tran and Joshua Reeves.
The company will apply the new funds to hiring (http://www.getchute.com/jobs) and investing in sales and marketing.
Founded in 2011 by Ranvir Gujral, Chute is an Y Combinator backed company that helps content producers and app developers capture, manage and display media files embedding a few lines of code. Its technology provides app developers and online publishers with a cloud-based backend for image uploading, processing, moderation, third-party API integrations and user authentication.
