MapMyFITNESS Raises $9M in Series B Funding

MapMyFITNESS, an Austin, Texas-based health and fitness technology company, has raised $9m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Austin Ventures and Milestone Venture Partners, with participation from strategic business partners Competitor Group, Inc. and The Running Specialty Group, LLC.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its offerings and advance its position in the global online and mobile fitness application markets.

Led by CEO Richard Jalichandra, MapMyFITNESS is an online and mobile platform that allows users (runners, walkers, cyclists and active people) to plan workout activities, measure their fitness and track their progress both in real-time and over time. It operates a  network of websites and mobile applications (MapMyRUN, MapMyRIDE, MapMyWALK, MapMyHIKE, MapMyFITNESS, MapMyTRI, MapMyMOUNTAIN and MapMyDOGWALK) that offer users the ability to access to a searchable database of over 45 million global routes, online training tools, fitness calculators, nutrition tracking, and comprehensive event listings.
