Kaazing Closes $17M in Funding

Kaazing, a Mountain View, CA-based provider of a platform for the living Web, has closed $17m in new funding.

Investors include Ray Bingham, who is also on the boards of Flextronics International Ltd., Fusion IO, and STMicroelectronics NV, among others.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand and grow its customer base, particularly as it moves into the mobile market.

Led by co-founder and CEO Jonas Jacobi, Kaazing leverages its Kaazing WebSocket Gateway, a high-performance Web communication platform to enable the Living Web – the dynamic, interactive online world populated by applications that are always on, always connected and always real-time., It is currently used in many industries, including financial services, retail, gaming and entertainment, transportation, and mobile.
Customers include BSkyB, Cantor Fitzgerald, ITRS, Southwest Airlines, and The Limited.
