Hipmunk, a San Francisco, CA-based travel website, has closed a $15m Series B financing.
The round was led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), with participation from Ignition Partners and existing angel investors.
The company intends to use the funding for major product launches and scaling of the workforce to support new product initiatives.
Launched in 2010 by CEO Adam Goldstein, Hipmunk offers advanced visual flight and map-based hotel search with calendar integration. It is available for Android and iOS with over one million mobile application downloads to date.
The company is also backed by Y Combinator, SV Angel, Webb Investment Network, Quest Hospitality Ventures.
In conjunction with the funding, Todd Chaffee, General Partner at IVP, will join Hipmunk’s board of directors.
