Chill Raises $8M in Series A Funding

Chill, a Los Angeles, CA-based social video discovery platform, has raised $8m in equity funding.

Backers include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, William Morris Endeavor, Atlas Venture and Chris Sacca’s Lowercase Capital, which join existing investors Troy Carter, 500 Startups, Science Media, Michael Arrington’s CrunchFund, Mike Jones and Redpoint Ventures.

The company intends to use the funding to accelerate the development and distribution of its platform.

Founded in early 2012 by Brian Norgard, Chill is a platform for social video that helps premium content partners such as TMZ, Jimmy Kimmel Live and PUMA find and engage new audiences through social discovery.
It has over 19 million registered users.
