Sunrun, a San Francisco, CA-based large home solar company, raised $60m in equity financing.
The round was led by Madrone Capital Partners with participation from existing investors Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital and Foundation Capital.
The company intends to use the capital to continue to develop and scale its software and service expertise.
Led by President and co-Founder Lynn Jurich, Sunrun owns, insures, monitors and maintains the solar panels on a homeowner’s roof, while families pay a low rate for clean energy and fix their electric costs for 20 years. Its solar power service, introduced in 2007, is used by more than 20,000 homeowners in 10 states.
