SecureKey Technologies Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based provider of online and mobile authentication solutions, has raised $30m in growth capital.
The round was led by Intel Capital, the global investment organization of Intel Corporation, with whom SecureKey is working to deploy its solutions in Intel® Identity Protection Technology (IPT) beginning on Ultrabook devices later in 2012, with participation from new investors Visa Inc., MasterCard, Discover Financial Services, Rogers Venture Partners LLC, and TELUS Corporation.
The company intends to use the capital for the commercial rollout of its solutions.
Led by CEO Greg Wolfond, SecureKey Technologies provides an innovative platform-as-a-service for authentication, payment and identity. By embedding its security client in laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, the company enables partners including financial institutions, healthcare providers, telecoms, and government organizations to deliver scalable solutions with the security of chip-based identity and payment credentials.
