Project Décor Raises $1.6M in Seed Funding

Project Décor, a NYC-based social home decorating web platform for design enthusiasts, has raised $1.6m in seed funding.

Backers include LaunchCapital and Founder Collective, as well as a number of angel investors.

Co-founded in 2012 by Andy Appelbaum and Cliff Sirlin, Project Decor is a social home design platform where design enthusiasts can visualize their personal design style for each room in their home, share it with their friends and then shop for furniture and accessories to create their home.
The company has recruited over 40 design brands for launch including Knoll, Richard Schultz, Jonathan Adler, Bernhardt Design, Orrefors, Kosta Boda, Area, Gaia & Gino, Merida, Christopher Farr, ducduc, Emeco, Stephanie Odegard Collection, Offecct, Mirror Image, Jan Kath, and Studio Printworks. Additional partners will be announced in the coming weeks.
The company will be launching its “invite-only” beta test on June 18.
