Instacanvas Launches

Instacanvas, a Los Angeles-based online marketplace for buying and selling Instagram photos as canvas art pieces, has launched its service to the public.

The company, a graduate of MuckerLab‘s startup accelerator, leverages the Instagram ecosystem to connect artists with buyers worldwide.
Led by founder and CEO Matt Munson, the company provides fans of an Instagram artist’s work with a secure tool to acquire original pieces which the company prints on stretched canvas and ships to the buyer’s door. Artists who have already built large followings online can set up a free online gallery to transform their social network following into an offline customer base and sell physical versions of their pieces.
Leaving private beta today, Instacanvas already powers over 25,000 galleries for photographers in 30 countries and has grown from zero to 1.1M monthly uniques. It is currently hiring (http://instacanv.as/p/careers).

As a participant in MuckerLab, each company receives up to $21k, office space, legal support, access to our advisor network, and the opportunity to present to top-tier investors at the end of the program. In exchange for the funding and services provided MuckerLab receives, on average, a 6% stake in each company in the program.
