Glopho, a London, UK-based crowd-sourced photo sharing service, has closed a £150k funding.
Backers include a syndicate of four London Business Angels, who invested a total of £100k.
The company intends to use the funding to launch its product and increase monthly page impressions and unique user metrics.
Established in 2010 by CEO Simon Walker, Glopho has developed an internet based free-to-use website for people to upload their news photos. It aims to will provide advertisers with an opportunity to engage with consumers and will deliver a marketplace for traditional media to access a new source of crowd-sourced news photos. The web site is supported by purpose-built smartphone apps across iOS, Android and Blackberry.
