Positron Dynamics Receives $350K Grant

Positron Dynamics, a company that focuses on enhancing the production and collection of positrons, a class of elementary particles with several applications, received an up to $350k grant from the Thiel Foundation.

The foundation awarded the funding through Breakout Labs, its new revolving fund designed to promote innovation in science and technology.

Founded in 2011 by Ryan Weed and Joshua Machacek, the company is dedicated to producing “cold” positrons as a diagnostic for materials and in low-energy collisions with atoms and molecules.
The company develops positron beam technologies for use in non-destructive testing (NDT) of critical components in the aerospace and defense markets.
