Australian-founded Nitro, a developer of solutions that enable people to create, edit, sign, and share digital documents, has raised $3.5m in funding from Starfish Ventures.
The company intends to use the funding for product innovation and recruitment during 2012. Nitro plans to double headcount during 2012 with an anticipated 50 new hires, including the establishment of a dedicated cloud engineering team in its San Francisco headquarters.
Led by Founder & CEO Sam Chandler and known for its Nitro Pro and Nitro Reader, the company has exceeded 3 million unique active monthly users and over 250,000 paying customers, including consumers, small- to medium- sized businesses, and Fortune 500 enterprises.
