WaveBreak Media Raises €400K in Funding

WaveBreak Media, a Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland-based producer of visual content, has raised €400k in funding.

The round was led by Kernel Capital, which injected €250k through the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund, with participation from Enterprise Ireland.

The company intends to use the capital to increase its catalogue of royalty free super slow motion content and to hire new people in addition to its 20 employees in the Rubicon Centre, CIT campus.

Founded in 2006 by CEO Sean Prior, WaveBreak specializes in the production of still imagery, video footage, 3D animations and after effects files. The Company has a catalogue of over 100,000 stock media files, which are sold through its website and via an international distribution network of 60 agents including Getty Images and Corbis Motion. Clients include Dell, RTE, Fox Sports and MTV.
