Sunnovations Receives $200K in Funding from CIT

Sunnovations Inc., a McLean, Va.-based clean technology company specializing in solar hot water (SHW) systems for the US and international residential markets, has received $200k in funding from the Center for Innovative Technology‘s Commonwealth Energy Fund (CEF).

The funding, which is part of a larger round, will help the company to bring its SHW systems to market in the US.

Led by CEO Matt Carlson, Sunnovations develops SHW system based on its patented “geyser pump”, which uses no electricity and has no moving parts, displacing electric pumps, controllers and sensors. The company’s product pipeline also includes a low-cost SHW monitoring system that tracks actual energy production and homeowner savings from their system.
