GlobeSherpa, a Portland, Oregon-based start up that has developed solutions to transform smartphones into payment and redemption devices, has been selected by Portland Seed Fund for a $25k investment.
Led by CEO Nat Parker, and CTO Michael Gray, the company provides TransitSherpa, an app that allows commuters to purchase and use transit tickets by phone.
It offers real-time location of buses and light rail, includes a trip-planner, and offers alerts about service disruptions, transit promotions and events.
The app is available for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
