Drilling Info, an Austin, Texas-based data intelligence provider to the oil and gas industries, has received a $165m investment.
The round is led by New York–based growth equity and venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners, with participation from Battery Ventures and Eastern Advisors Private Fund.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its SaaS-based data and analytics offerings with new products and features and to provide rewards to its early investors.
Led by Chairman and CEO Allen Gilmer, Drilling Info provides large global enterprises, independent drillers, service providers and investors with data intelligence tools to accelerate workflows, make well-informed business critical decisions and maximize returns on investment.
Its services provide the most recent research and information, such as land title, leases, well completion and well production data.
The company, which has more than 2,700 accounts globally with more than 20,000 users, has offices throughout the U.S oil patch in addition to the UK, Southeast Asia, and South America.
