BrightEdge Raises $12.6M in Series C Funding

BrightEdge, a San Mateo, CA-based site, search and social management platform for global enterprises, has raised $12.6m in a Series C funding.

The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from existing investors Battery Ventures, Altos Ventures and Illuminate Ventures.

The company intends to use the capital to expand business operations across the U.S. and in Europe.

Led by co-founder and CEO Jim Yu, BrightEdge offers a cloud-based platform that delivers enterprise-grade search engine optimization (SEO) to more than 2,000 companies around the globe including Microsoft, Facebook, VMWare, Symantec, Intuit and Citrix. The company’s BrightEdge S3, which is powered by a big-data foundation with an actionable analytics front end, is designed to give support for Facebook page optimization, Social signal measurement, Global SEO, SEO recommendations, and SEO tasks and workflow.
