Brandwatch Raises $6M in Funding

Brandwatch, a Brighton, UK-based social media monitoring company, has raised $6m in funding.

The round was led by Nauta Capital, with participation from existing investor Gorkana Group.

In conjunction with the financing, Carles Ferrer, General Partner at Nauta Capital, will join Brandwatch’s board; Al Sisto, Venture Partner, will join as an observer.
The company intends to use the capital to bring innovative products to market, expand its sales and marketing teams (http://www.brandwatch.com/category/jobs/) and grow internationally, mainly in the US, EMEA LATAM and SE Asia markets.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Giles Palmer, Brandwatch provides a monitoring solution designed to help companies find conversation about their brand or market online, in real-time. It continually crawls the web and stores the data in-house to provides insights and analysis on sentiment, market trends, customer opinion and brand reputation.

The company, which has offices in New York and Germany, currently has more than 300 clients and several thousand users, including global brands and agencies such as HSBC, DDB, Ipsos and Mediacom.
