Gumroad Launches with over $1.1M in Seed Funding

Gumroad, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that enables people to sell their stuff online, has launched with over $1.1m in seed funding.

Backers include Accel Partners, Chris Sacca, Max Levchin, SV Angel, Josh Kopelman, Seth Goldstein, Naval Ravikant, Collaborative Fund and Danny Rimer.

Founded by Sahil Lavingia, Gumroad allows users to sell things that they’ve made. These include songs, albums, videos, photos, T-shirts, etc. Users can sign in with Facebook or Twitter and submit any link or file, attach a price, a photo and description.

The service supports all major credit cards and deposits to accounts in over 190 countries.

The company takes 5% + $0.30 of each transaction.
