Fanattac, Inc. (fuh-nat-ik), an online social media platform that connects music fans and artists, has closed a $1m funding round and has launched a beta at Ithaca College in New York (http://www.fanattac.com/ithaca/).
Investors were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the capital to support the initial beta release as it plans to expand the platform to several other college campuses during the next few months. A public launch is expected for spring of 2012 and a mobile offering, which is currently in development, shortly thereafter.
Led by CEO and co-founder Dan Faiman, Fanattac is a place for fans to interact with their favorite artists.Both big stars and new talent are provided with tools to communicate directly with their fans and incentivize them to promote their music and their brand.
