Appcelerator Acquires Cocoafish

Appcelerator, a Mountain View, Calif.-based mobile platform company, is acquiring San Francisco, CA-based Cocoafish, a mobile app infrastructure provider, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in late 2010 by Michael Goff and Wei Kong, Cocoafish provides a cloud service that allows developers to build network features into mobile apps. It offers a set of more than 25 cloud-based mobile features for deep user engagement, including push notifications, location, social integration, sharing, user management, and photo manipulation.
Led by CEO Jeff Haynie, Appcelerator plans to integrate the Cocoafish services into its Titanium Platform by the second quarter of 2012 with integration with its Titanium Platform, as well as complete iOS, Android, REST and JavaScript SDKs for non-Titanium customers.

Founded in 2006, Appcelerator raised a $15m round last November from Mayfield Fund, Translink Capital, and Red Hat (read here).
