StormWind Raises $4M in Funding

StormWind, a Phoenix, AZ-based online IT and custom training company, has raised $4m in funding.

The round was led by GSV Capital Corp., with participation from Tim Crown, who co-founded and built Insight.com.

The company intends to use the funding for technology development, expanding its IT Live course offerings, and employment of approximately 150 new team members over the next 18 months.

Founded in 2009 by corporate training entrepreneur Tom Graunke, and IT veteran Corey Frank, StormWind uses its proprietary technology to provide custom HD online video training for enterprise clients.
The company provides two eLearning options: companies can hire StormWind to create custom HD eLearning for sales training, channel marketing, and employee education. Additionally, it offers an HD online class experience for IT professionals looking for technical and certification training in topics like Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, and Project Management.

In conjunction with the funding, Mr. Crown will join the company’s board of directors.
