Mykonos Software Raises $4M Series A Financing

Mykonos Software, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of Web Intrusion Prevention Systems (WIPS), has raised a $4M Series A financing.

The round was led by existing investor Tom Golisano, founder and chairman of Paychex, with participation from new investors Scott Banister, founder of Ironport, Jeff Clarke, executive chairman of Travelport, chairman of Orbitz and board member of Red Hat, and Mike Jones, founder and CEO of Clover Capital and SVP of Federated Clover.

The company intends to use the new funds to improve the product by expanding security and engineering capabilities and increasing investment in sales and marketing.

Led by founder, president and CEO David Koretz, Mykonos Software provides a Web Intrusion Prevention System that uses deception to detect, track, profile and prevent hackers in real-time. It tracks individual attackers, profile their behavior and deploy counter measures.

In conjunction with the funding, Clarke and Jones have joined the company’s Board of Directors.
