HelloWallet Raises $12M in Series B funding

HelloWallet, a Washington, DC-based provider of personalized financial guidance, has raised $12m in Series B funding.

Backers include Morningstar, Inc. which invested $6.75m and TD Fund, which injected $4m, as well as existing investors and new investors.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its client base.

Led by founder & CEO Matt Fellowes, HelloWallet offers technology-based, personalized financial guidance to employees of Fortune 1000 companies and other large institutions. Its services are designed to help workers save money, improve their wellbeing, and manage their financial responsibilities. Morningstar and HelloWallet will co-market their services to employers and 401(k) providers and in the future expect to further integrate their services.

In conjunction with the funding, Brock Johnson, president of retirement solutions for Morningstar, and Jim Pastoriza, managing partner at TDF, will join the company’s board of directors.
