Cambrios Technologies Corporation Closes $5M Series D-3 Financing with Samsung Venture Investment Corporation

Cambrios Technologies Corporation, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of nanotechnology-based solutions to enable the development of electronic devices with transparent conductors, has closed a $5m Series D-3 financing with Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.

The company intends to use the capital to advance its efforts to accelerate product introductions and commercial growth in multiple consumer electronic device markets.

The company also appointed John LeMoncheck as President and CEO. Dr. Michael R Knapp, Cambrios founding President and CEO, will become Chairman.
LeMoncheck brings extensive expertise in the technology and consumer electronics industries and in forging commercial partnerships. Most recently, he was President and CEO of SiBEAM, a pioneer in 60 GHz-based millimeter wave wireless technology acquired by Silicon Image (NASDAQ: SIMG).

Founded in 2002 by Drs. Angela Belcher of MIT and Evelyn Hu of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Cambrios offers ClearOhmTM coating material, which produces a transparent, conductive film by wet processing. Applications include transparent electrodes for touch screens, liquid crystal displays, e-paper, OLED devices, OLED lighting and thin film photovoltaics.

The company is also backed by ARCH Venture Partners and Alloy Ventures.
