Aeria Games Receives Investment from NHN Corporation

Aeria Games, a California-based company that operates a website for free-to-play online multiplayer games, has received a financial investment of undisclosed amount from Korean NHN Corporation (KOSPI: 035420)

The investment is expected to further fuel Aeria’s growth in the Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) market by expanding its content and platform offerings and growing its international footprint.

As part of a strategic agreement that gives Aeria Games the first right with preferential treatment to publish NHN online games worldwide outside of Asia, the company has also acquired NHN’s free-to-play online gaming portal ijji Games LLC.

Founded in 2006 and led by CEO Lan Hoang, Aeria Games produces online free-to-play games in North America, Latin America, and Europe and has 300 employees in its offices in the US, Germany, and Brazil. The acquisition of ijji Games adds complementary titles including Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A.) and Soldier Front (and over 10 million hard-core gamers) to its portfolio of over 30 MMO titles spanning action, roleplaying, shooter, real time strategy, and racing games. Titles include Eden Eternal, Shaiya, Wolf Team, Golden Age and Repulse.
