TroopSwap.com, an ecommerce platform for veterans, service members and military dependents, has closed a $2.5m equity financing.
Backers include McCombs Partners, Blu Venture Investors, Jay Campion, Roy Terracina, Marty Abbott, Larry Cochran, and Kelly Perdew.
The company intends to use the funding to develop its technology.
Founded by two combat veterans and Harvard Business School alumni, CEO Blake Hall and Matthew Thompson, Troopswap.com partners with merchants to provide deals for the military community. The company also focuses on employing veterans and military spouses.
10% of its profits are donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Launched on May 23, 2011, the site has attracted over 30,000 members.
The service is currently available in Hampton Roads, Virginia; San Diego, California; Washington, DC and National.
