Tactus Technology, Inc., a Fremont, CA-based developer of new tactile user interface for touchscreen devices, has secured $6m in Series A funding.
The round wa sled by Thomvest Ventures, a $150m fund capitalized by Peter J. Thomson.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its product development and ramp up operations toward large-scale customer deployments.
founded in 2008 and led by CEO Craig Ciesla, Tactus provides a new dimension of user interface with an application-controlled, completely transparent physical buttons that rise up from the touchscreen surface on demand.
The company is currently working with device manufacturers to integrate their tactile surface into a variety of touchscreen device.
