PatientKeeper Inc., a Boston, Mass.-based provider of physician healthcare information systems, has raised $6m in growth capital.
Backers include existing investors Flybridge Capital Partners, New Enterprise Associates and Whitney & Co.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to invest in product development of its suite of advanced clinical, charge capture and other physician-centric applications, as well as to expand its professional services organization.
Chip Hazard, general partner at Flybridge Capital Partners, who joined PatientKeeper’s board of directors in 2009, will also assume the role of Chairman.
Led by president and CEO Paul Brient, the company provides hospitals and physician practice groups with software that streamlines workflow to improve productivity and patient care. PatientKeeper’s clinical, financial, documentation, and Health Information Exchange products run on desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices and tablets and integrate with existing healthcare information systems.
