Learfield Communications Receives Investment from Shamrock Capital Growth Fund III

Learfield Communications, Inc., a company that manages the athletic multimedia rights for more than 50 collegiate institutions and associations through its Learfield Sports operating unit, has received a strategic investment of undisclosed amount from Shamrock Capital Growth Fund III.

Following the close of the transaction, Learfield senior management, led by President and CEO Greg Brown, will continue managing daily business operations, and Founder Clyde Lear will continue to serve as a minority shareholder.

Shamrock intends to help Learfield further grow their business.

Founded in 1972, the company represents big names in college sports, with long-term relationships within the major collegiate conferences. Learfield also owns Learfield News, which operates Brownfield, an agriculture radio network and information service and five state news networks.
