Private equity firm Key Capital Partners has backed the secondary management buyout of Midlands Industrial Glass, a Smethwick, UK-based independent, specialist glass processors in the UK.
Key Capital Partners has acquired a significant stake in the company from Birmingham-based venture capital investor Midven.
The deal, which has been led by Owen Trotter and Richard Thomas, is designed to enable Midlands Industrial Glass to accelerate its organic and acquisitive growth plans.
Established in 1936 and led by managing director Alan Taylor, and Operations Director Glenn Bicknell, the company supplies a wide range of products, including toughened glass and mirror, to the retail, transport, balustrading and street furniture markets, among others.
Midlands Industrial Glass, which employs 60 people, serves retailers including Marks & Spencer, Next, New Look, Arcadia group and John Lewis Partnership, as well as Phillips and Aga Rangemaster.
