Gryphon Investors, a San Francisco, CA-based company that focuses on leveraged acquisitions of, and growth investments in, middle-market companies in partnership with experienced management, has received $7.2m in mezzanine debt financing from Babson Capital Management LLC.
The proceeds from the investment will be used for the acquisition of Trinity Consultants (read here), a Dallas-based environmental consulting company specializing in industrial air quality issues. With offices nationwide and in China and the Middle East, Trinity provides consulting, environmental modeling software, staffing assistance and data management solutions designed to help organizations comply with applicable environmental regulatory requirements and optimize environmental performance for long-term sustainability.
Gryphon focuses on investing $25m to $75m of its own capital in companies with sales ranging from $25m to $250m.
