Amplify is launching with $4.5M Fund

Amplify, a Los Angeles-based new startup accelerator, is launching with a $4.5m fund.

Managed by Paul Bricault (Greycroft Partners, William Morris Agency) and Richard Wolpert (Accel, Real Networks, Disney), Amplify will provide portfolio companies with a four-month collaboration and:
– up to $50k in seed capital and the opportunity for follow-on support,
– dedicated office space with VIP access to community workshops and events,
– hands-on, weekly mentor meetings with seasoned entrepreneurs, and
– 3-year hiatus on city taxes.

The accelerator is currently renovating the 10,000 square foot historic building at 1600 Main Street in Venice Beach designed by architect Steven Ehrlich. It will host classes and top experts across business, design, development, finance, law, etc.

Among others, investors include:
Mark Burnett (Apprentice, Survivor), Brian Grazer (J. Edgar, 24), Jarl Mohn (E! Entertainment, MTV), Accel Partners, BV Capital, Greycroft Partners, Rustic Canyon, Tomorrow Ventures, Tim Draper, Gordon Crawford, Vivi Nevo, Paige Craig, Diego Berdakin and Tom McInerney.
