YCharts Raises $3.25M in Series B Funding

YCharts, a Chicago, IL-based stock research and analysis provider, has secured $3.25m in Series B financing.

The round was led by Morningstar, Inc., which committed $2.45m, with participation from existing backers the Hyde Park Angels, I2A, and several angel firms.
This investment brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $4.75m (click here about the Series A funding raised in 2010).

YCharts plans to use the new funding to continue to build out its team, scale infrastructure, increase marketing efforts and expand the scope of its financial research and analytics.

In conjunction with the funding, Jeremy Diamond, head of global business development for Morningstar’s equity data division, will be joining the the company’s board.

Co-founded in 2008 by chairman and CEO Shawn Carpenter and CTO Ara Anjargolian, YCharts provides investors with comprehensive information on the companies behind the stocks, allowing them to make the most accurate decision for their portfolios.
It gives access to as many as 75 different metrics, including revenue growth, market cap, dividend yield and total returns for more than 5,000 stocks and more than 3,000 economic indicators. Partners also include BusinessInsider, Forbes, StockTwits, Zacks, and MotleyFool.
