SolidFire Raises $25M in Second Funding Round

SolidFire, a Boulder Colorado-based provider of all-solid-state (SSD) primary storage systems for cloud service providers, has raised $25m in its second funding round.

Backers include NEA, Valhalla Partners, and Novak Biddle, as well as Frank Slootman, former CEO of Data Domain, David Schneider, former VP of Worldwide Sales at Data Domain, and Greg Papadopoulos, Ph.D., former VP and CTO of Sun Microsystems.
This investment brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $37m.

SolidFire intends to use the funds to expand the sales and marketing departments.

Led by founder and CEO Dave Wright, the company delivers high-performance and high-efficiency primary storage for cloud service providers. Its SolidFire Element™ operating system combines a scale-out all-solid-state architecture with patented efficiency technologies that reduce power, cooling, and capacity consumption.
