RunKeeper Raises $10M in Funding

RunKeeper, a Boston, MA-based provider of a health and fitness platform, has raised an additional $10m in funding.

The round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from existing investor OATV, and new investor Revolution Ventures.

Led by Jason Jacobs, RunKeeper allows users to track, analyze and optimize their health to improve the quality of their lives, while receiving support and social motivation from friends, family and members of the community. It also provides an activity tracking app for the iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and Nokia, and recently launched its Health Graph API, an ecosystem of third-party devices and applications that integrate with the core RunKeeper experience.

The company intends to use the capital to grow its team (http://runkeeper.com/jobs), and improve its products, including the Health Graph.
