Models & Tools, a Shelby Township, Michigan-based designer and manufacturer of tooling systems for the aerospace and defense industries, has been acquired by private equity firm Altus Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
The investment was made through Altus Capital Partners II L.P. and along with the company’s management members.
Following the transaction, Models and Tools’ senior management team – led by CEO Jeff Cunningham and President Phil Neale, will remain in place and maintain a significant equity stake in the company.
Founded in 1974, Models & Tools designs and manufactures products that are integral to commercial and military aircraft applications. They include assembly fixtures, N/C machined bond and cure tools, work stands, drill & trim tools, molds and facilities equipment integrated with light automation.
The company operates a 115,000-square-foot office and climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Shelby Township.
