Minted Closes $5.5M Series B Funding

Minted, a San Francisco, CA-based global design community and e-commerce site, has completed a $5.5m Series B funding.

The round was led by Benchmark Capital, with participation from IDG Ventures and Menlo Ventures, as well as business angels Marissa Mayer of Google and Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp.

The company intends to use the capital to enhance recruiting efforts (http://www.minted.com/jobs) and to support growth opportunities, starting with new product lines.

Led by CEO and Founder Mariam Naficy, Minted is a global community of independent graphic designers and an e-commerce site that prints and sells their designs in the form of paper goods such as holiday cards, wedding invitations, notebooks, and calendars.

Other executives include Melissa Kim, Co-Founder and SVP Weddings, and Niniane Wang, Chief Technology Officer.
