SideTour, a NYC-based marketplace where people can host and discover retail and dining experiences, has raised $1.5m in funding.
Investors include Foundry Group and RRE Ventures.
Founded in July 2011 by CEO Vipin Goyal, Aaron Foss, Minesh Mistry and Mark Webster, SideTour provides professionals and other individuals with a platform to monetize their expertise.
It enables hosts to manage their scheduling, bookings and communication, market their experiences/services, and process payments and refunds.
The company, which just emerged from stealth mode, is starting in NYC with plans to build a global marketplace for local experiences in cities around the world.
SideTour is part of the TechStars incubator program.
